Who is Dasko?
A business that blossomed in the shadow of a legacy, a legacy named Dasko.
Dasko was born on the small islands of Key West, FL in the summer of 2006. While it only took seconds to know just how special this dog was, we will spend a lifetime living up to his name. This is not the story of a dog who actively worked the streets, or a dog that served in our military. This is the story of a dog who later became known as “the teacher”. The one who went from agency to agency teaching handlers (and dreamers) what it felt like to work a dog and where to set the standard in working dogs today.
Born into the home of a retired Monroe County K9 handler, Dasko’s journey began on day one. At the young age of 9 weeks, Dasko would take part in K9 training with the local KW police department. He worked bitework, obedience and learned all the fundamentals for everything it took to be a world class working K9. In the first year it didn’t take much before Dasko was excelling in nearly every field. By the summer of 2008 Dasko was the leader of his pack. Used in countless demonstrations for law enforcement throughout the Florida keys as well as up and down the east coast of the USA.
Dasko worked side by side with his owner, teaching law enforcement k9 seminars, advanced K9 Obedience, educating school children about K9’s and working with handlers with disabilities proving that there is no end where there’s determination. He would live on to set the standard on ability, give confidence and prove that dogs are truly a Best Friend and not just a tool to be utilized.
Dasko was a dog that you can count on, he was the one you could depend on to always do the right thing no matter who was at the end of the leash. That’s why, in 2024 when we incorporated a company with the mission of creating a line of dependable working dog gear built with the working dog in mind; the name was a no brainer. Dasko to the rescue.
